This linear pendant light is a long, curved LED bar that hangs over a kitchen island or a dining table and fills it with soft, even light. The island light comes in 2 lengths, 100cm and 120cm, in black, gold or chrome. The shade is a silicone strip that spreads light along the whole run instead of dropping a hot spot in the middle of the table. No bare bulbs on show, and no glare in your eyes while you eat.

Pick your white and stick with it. Warm white at 3000K is the cosy one, good over a dining table in the evening. Cool white at 6000K is brighter and crisper, better if the island is where you actually chop and cook. The dimmable version adjusts from 3000K to 6000K on a remote, so you can move between the 2 whenever you like. Both fixed white versions work with a normal wall dimmer, so you can wire this ceiling light into the switch you already have.

The body of this modern pendant light is aluminium on a painted iron base, sealed against rust and corrosion so it holds up over a hob. The LEDs are built in, so there is nothing to swap out and nothing extra to buy. This is an indoor light, and it wires into the ceiling rose rather than plugging in, so it is a job for an electrician. The cord is adjustable, so the drop can be set to suit your ceiling.
