There are two independent pivot points: the arm pivots up or down where it meets the wall backplate, and the shade pivots independently where it hangs from the arm tip. Combined, this means you can position the light source pointing straight down (task light), forward (reading light), or angled toward a wall to wash artwork. Each hinge holds its position firmly once set — no need to re-tighten regularly.

The wall projection at full extension is 35.5 cm (14") — measured from the wall surface to the center of the shade. This is the maximum reach; pivoting the arm upward reduces the projection. For tight spaces (narrow hallways, cramped bedside), measure your wall clearance before ordering.

One E12 (North America) or E14 (EU/UK/AU) candelabra base bulb up to 25W. Because the shade is open at the bottom, the bulb is partially visible — vintage Edison-style filament E12/E14 bulbs work especially well, as do simple candelabra LED globes. Pick warm white (2700–3000K) for the most period-appropriate glow that complements the antique brass. Bulb is not included.

Yes — gooseneck sconces work beautifully in pairs flanking a bed (each one swung inward over the bedside table for reading) or on either side of a wall-mounted artwork. Just order two units. For matched-batch finish consistency on larger orders, contact us first — antique brass finishes can vary slightly between production batches.

The fixture itself doesn't dim, but it becomes fully dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED candelabra bulb and a standard TRIAC wall dimmer (both sold separately). Dimming pairs especially well with vintage Edison filament bulbs — the warm filament glow becomes more amber and atmospheric at lower brightness levels.
